Itinerary:
WAKAYAMA | 3 nights
Day 1: Arrival Day in Osaka
Included meals: Lunch, Dinner
On the first day, arrival at Kansai International airport is followed by a warm welcome from a guide and a transfer to the hotel. Pick up the bikes after a smooth transfer from the airport. Take it slow on local roads to get used to the atmosphere of Japanese towns and the traffic rules. Spend the night in Sakai City, a calm place where urban life and history intersect. Rest up and recharge for the long ride starting tomorrow.
Day 2: Shirahama to Sunset
Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
The real bike adventure begins! The first destination: a stunning coastal route. Ahead lies the striking Shirahama Coast, lined with brilliant white limestone formations. After a photo stop, ride on to the autumn colors of the scenic Kizetsu-kyo Gorge. As evening approaches, make your way to the dramatic Senjojiki. It is an expansive rock formation that looks like it was sculpted by nature itself. Capturing a photo of the bike against the setting sun is a moment only riders get to enjoy. End the day with a relaxing soak at the famous Shirahama Onsen to ease both body and mind.
Day 3: Where the Ocean Meets the Gods
Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Start the day with a visit to one of Shirahama’s most iconic photo spots, Engetsu Island. This arch-shaped island floating in the sea offers a magical view that shifts with the time of day. After riding about 50 km, arrive at Hashigui-iwa, a striking row of towering rock pillars stretching 850 meters into the ocean. In the afternoon, head to Kumano Nachi Taisha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a quiet moment to pay your respects at this sacred site that has drawn pilgrims for centuries. If time allows, it’s also worth walking to nearby Nachi Falls during your free time.
OSAKA | 1 night
Day 4: Riding High, Resting Deep
Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
On Day 4, take on one of Wakayama’s top touring routes: the Koya-Ryujin Skyline. This mountain road winds along elevations of around 1,000 meters, offering sweeping curves and breathtaking views of the open sky and interesting terrain. After the ride, slow the pace with a visit to Kumano Hongu Taisha, a peaceful and spiritual spot. That evening, stay at a shukubo, temple lodging. Experience a quiet night and a traditional Buddhist vegetarian meal. In this sacred place with over 1,200 years of history, enjoy a rare and restorative moment of stillness.
Day 5: Last Day on the Bike
Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
The final day begins in the quiet stillness of Mount Koya. The sound of morning sutras echoing through the temple grounds offers a sense of inner depth rarely found in daily life.
Then it’s time to get back on the bike for the final run: one continuous ride back to Osaka. Along the way, memories of the journey come to mind. And when the engine finally comes to a stop, it doesn’t mark the end of the journey, but the beginning of the next ride.
